The Modern Romantic

So, I'm putting this Snark Week thing to bed with a look ahead and shows that you ought to get yourself to. I'll be doing concert reports on here as part of my whole- "personal blog that's actually useful to the casual reader" initiative-- or PBTAUT2CR as we call it at the Japhydome. Here are the shows I'm planning on seeing soon.

• 8/18 The Puppini Sisters @ The Roxy- "I Will Survive" shall be sung like a 40s' doo-wop song.
• 8/21 Jeremy Fisher @ The Viper Room- The guy from that awesome lo-fi Cigarette video. If the O.C. were still around, they'd have lined him up as a guest act.
• 9/17 Chess @ The Henry Fonda- One night only concert of ABBA's Cold War musical that spawned the 'hit', "One Night in Bangkok".
  
• 9/19 New Pornographers @ The Henry Fonda- Japhy jumps up and down excitedly. Oh, and Lavender Diamond opens. Everyone should go.
• 9/20 Arcade Fire @ The Hollywood Bowl - Holy fuck a duck. After the concert the night before, off to the Bowl for apocalyptic rock...oh, and the AF is playing with LCD Soundsystem. I have to go clean myself up now.
  
• 9/23 Rufus Wainwright does Judy @ The Hollywood Bowl- It's Judy's famous concert, but sung by a nasal gay man.
  
• 9/27 Pet Shop Boys @ The Hollywood Bowl - Because it's PSB and they're playing the Bowl.
  
• 9/29 Bright Eyes @ The Hollywood Bowl- Because it's Bright Eyes and they're playing at the Bowl...with the L.A. Phil
  
• 10/25- Josh Ritter @ The El Rey- Hopefully, by then 2007's break-out star will have decided to let me have his babies.
