World of Wonder launches a curated YouTube site- sorta. The new idea here is that you can create your own 'TV' channels with your content and become part of the media revolution. There's still a few kinks to work out-- when I signed up, it lost my password and when I rest it, it logged me in to somebody else's account.

For the surf potato, there's all the World of Wonder craziness and lots and lots of Pretty Thingsss you could want. I wouldn't invest a lot of time in the channel creation tools until they iron the kinks out, but the videos are worth a look.

Here's how the boys from WOW explain it:

It all began with our fist ever show, a compilation of clips from the wild,
whacky, and wonderful shows found on Manhattan Cables public access
channels.

The idea that anyone and everyone could make their own shows was so wildly
appealing to us it almost made us tear of our clothes and prance around
naked. Almost. But instead we remained fully clothed and let ten years pass
working in the coal mines of television.

We'd think up ideas, try to sell them, and - if we were lucky - get to make
them. If course we had to give up all the rights. So we wondered if there
was another way and then the internet came along.

Originally WOW TV was just going to be an array of WOW channels. We figured
we'd give away or sell the stuff we had managed to own. Then we thought
that much better and much more fun would be to devise something that
allowed anyone who wanted to to have their own channel.
