Boxer's Rumsfeld Resolution

Hurray! The Democrats finally do something smart. After a couple years of getting jammed into supporting the war with Republican written non-binding resolutions, Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA), plans on introducing her own non-binding resolution next week- calling on the President to fire Donald "if you don't support the war, you're a Nazi sympathizer" Rusmfeld.

Just a quick reminder of how non-binding resolution calculus works:

Take issue your opponent is weak on (Rumsfeld being shorthand for the bungling of Iraq), introduce non-binding resolution that forces your opponent to go on the record about weak issue (Republicans can vote for the resolution and look like anti-war, anti-Bush hippies or vote against it and suddenly find themselves riding the political white elephant of supporting a war the majority of Americans are against and say is unwinnable) and then use the results of non-binding resolution to tar and feather opponent in his or her home district (ie: TV Spot- "Iraq, Thousands dead, no way out and Senator X voted against a resolution calling for change. Senator X, part of the problem and with no solutions")
