Monday's always busy, so I freeform the blog today.
- "Jail is no fun. (This is the worst resort I have ever been to!)"- Ken Gourlay, blogging from jail. Also, with Justin Berry failing to show in court on Friday, the first semi-critical coverage of the case begins to appear.
- Garden parties are fun.
- Saw an advance screening of I'm Your Man, a Leonard Cohen concert film intercut with interviews with Cohen. The material is really promising, but the production values are just awful. Unexpained slo-mo's, sound distortion- all pretty amateur. Leonard Cohen proves to be a very charming man and Bono, who does back-up vocals when Cohen sings "Tower of Song", proves himself to be a nattering self-important twit. So, no big shockers here. Performances by Antony, lots of Wainwrights and McGarrigle's stand out; Nick Cave left me strangely unmoved.
- I'm thinking of getting a Vespa.
- John Hodgman does a really cute Apple ad.
