New York Magazine lays out what "a serious, innovative, truth-telling, pragmatic party without any of the baggage of the Democrats and Republicans" that appeals to what Alan Greenspan calls "a vast untended center"* of Americans would look like in, "The Purple Party." It's an inspiring read. Only way I see this happening is if the GOP decides to shut out McCain in the early '08 primaries and he decides to run it on his own/ with a coallition of other like-minded independents. Now, that would be some exciting political theatre.
