My apologies for not writing in forever, thereby guaranteeing me no audience whatsoever. Basically, I had the flu and then I got busy. I've been having a lot of fun at Frontiers. Being an editor is a bit like going back to college. I am learning a lot about writing by editing other writers, I'm inundated with new books, music and movies and I'm just now starting to find my new equilibrium. So here's the highlights:
- Hiring Johnny Hazzard to be a music reviewer for Frontiers. I read his blog, was impressed and asked the mega-hot porn star if he'd like to write for us. I got the impression that his versatility extended beyond his films and have been proved right. He's also very very sweet.
- My first appearance as a talking head. QTN asked me to appear opposite Steve Kmetko to talk about the Oscars. This was in the middle of my flu, but apparently they liked me enough to invite me back.
- Skiing with the Yalie in Mammoth. I lurv skiing. The Yalie was petrified he'd die on the slopes, but turned out to be really quite good at handling the deep powder of Mammoth Mountain. We had a great time and he put up with my forced iPod DJ'ing on the seven hour ride pretty well.
- Special Ten Magazine is doing a piece on my 'Fix It' video. Their British and terribly hip, so I'm shocked.
- Skinny dipping in the pool at the Chateau Marmont. It was fucking freezing out, but the pool was heated and for god's sake, who wouldn't say "Yes" to playing Marco Polo naked at L.A.'s swankiest spot as a giant Chanel model gazes on you from a nearby billboard like the eyes of T.J. Eckleberg?
- Josh Rouse has come out with a new C.D. So hot.
- I'm finally gaining some traction on the spec script.
- Also doing a bunch of fun essays.
- Finally, I picked up a book of gay erotica the other day and found that a friend of mine had written about our one-night stand. That's right kids, I'm so good that I inspire people to write about it.
I'll start doing the whole blogging thing pretty soon, but right now I'm in one of those, "let's advance our career, we're 26 and nobody's called us 'the voice of his generation' yet" phases. Oh, so ambitious. Oh, so vain.
